Question 1: What is my personal story?

I come from an engineering and project management background. My construction exposure started in the late 80’s when my Father became a builder. Over the years, I’ve worked closely with approvals, design coordination, and on-site delivery, which is where I saw many property owners struggling with confusing processes and inconsistent advice. DJ Development Group was built to provide a more structured, transparent, and technically sound building experience.

Question 2: What were some of my biggest mistakes?

One of the biggest issues I’ve seen in this industry is projects running into unexpected costs or delays due to poor planning, unclear scopes, or misunderstanding council requirements. Early in my career, I learned how critical proper feasibility and documentation are, because small oversights at the start can create major problems later.

Question 3: What were some of our biggest wins?

Our biggest wins are when clients realise their property can genuinely support a well-designed granny flat that improves their lifestyle or creates additional income. Seeing projects move smoothly from feasibility through approvals and construction without the usual stress points is something I’m very proud of.

What these experiences reinforced is that successful projects are rarely about just building — they’re about planning, compliance, clear communication, and managing risks before they become problems.
